Merran documentation Get started
Your first week
Start with one meal. You can try the core workflow without configuring AI or connecting a store.
1. Add a recipe
Section titled “1. Add a recipe”Open Recipes and add a recipe manually or import a recipe URL. Review the imported ingredients, servings, and steps before relying on them. A site that blocks automated requests may need another import method.
For all import methods, editing, units, and migration, see Recipes.
2. Put it on the plan
Section titled “2. Put it on the plan”Open Plan, choose a day and meal, and add the recipe. Adjust the servings for your household. A small plan is enough to try the workflow; you do not need to fill every meal.
See Planning for servings, theme nights, and filling the week without AI.
3. Check the pantry
Section titled “3. Check the pantry”Add the food you already have to Pantry, including amounts and units where available. Accurate quantities help Merran work out what still needs buying.
4. Build the shopping list
Section titled “4. Build the shopping list”In List, add ingredients from the plan. Review the combined quantities and pantry deductions. You can add household items by hand and check off purchases while shopping.
A store connection is optional. Try the list on its own before configuring prices or cart handoff.
See Shopping and pantry for quantity matching, purchases, and optional store connections.
5. Cook
Section titled “5. Cook”Open the recipe’s cook view and follow the steps. Try the timers and serving controls. Voice and AI features may need additional setup; the recipe and steps remain useful on their own.
See Cooking for checklists, timers, voice requirements, and notes.
Make it your own
Section titled “Make it your own”Once the loop works, add more recipes, plan a few dinners, and configure the optional modules you want in settings.
